How You Can Make Your House Be Dog-Friendly
Start by the floor of your house. Dogs always prefer hard floors which they can sleep on during warm weather to keep them cool. Hardwood floors are also recommended for the dog since they are friendly. Apart from that you should not spread hair or carpet for them on the floor as this may contain some insects or bacteria that may harm them . Trimming the nails of your dog will help keep your floor in good condition. The sound they are producing while moving around will help you in knowing when their nails are long.
Make sure that you watch out for any toxic substance or electricity. It is necessary that you make sure that the chemicals or other toxic substances that can harm dogs are kept in a safe place where the dog cannot reach. There are also some household plants that are poisonous of which should be removed outside the house. As everybody knows that electricity is a very dangerous thing to everyone including the dogs. It is important that you fix all the lose cables and put them in the right place. Apart from that you should also insulate the cables to prevent the dog from shock.
It is also important that you stop stocking white or bright items . Such items can easily be ruined very easily as dogs can easily see and scratch them. It is therefore important that when you are stocking your furniture make sure you go for the ones with dull colors as this will prevent the dogs from scratching them. Apart from that you should make sure that you put strong things in your house to prevent them from being broken by dogs.
Another thing you should do is to set an area in the house specifically for the dog. This area should be a dog-friendly area where you put the dog things for playing like toys, their bed, mat and many other things. You can as well build them a kennel.
You should also prevent the dog from eating your food by locking the kitchen cabinet doors. Another thing is that make sure you dispose of the kitchen wastes correctly especially the bones which dogs can break into pieces, and they can hurt someone. Make sure the trash can contain things that are not interested in the dogs as this will prevent them from spreading the litter.
It is also important that you clear the table after each and every meal. It is obvious that the dog will try to reach out for anything edible. In the process they can end up breaking the plates or the glasses that were set on the table.
