Understanding the Basics of Christian Faith
Christianity is the leading religion in the world. It started in Israel about two thousand years ago. He was a child that was born into a Jewish family who has religious roots in Judaism.
Most people celebrate in the world remember the birth of Jesus every year. Though Christmas is celebrated as the day that Jesus was born, it may not be the exact day.
Though Christ was born as a man; he was fully God. Jesus came with a definite goal. It was the desire of our creator to establish an improved relationship with human beings through remission of sin. Sacrificing animals was a practice that was done many times many years to atone for the sins of man. It was in the design of the loving creator to free man from the burden of sin. Though he has one son, God freely gave him up to die on behalf of humanity. People must first confess his sinful state. It is important to understand that no matter what man he cannot makes himself pure as Gods standards are very high. Believers are certain that the forgiveness through Jesus Christ allows them to be adopted into the family of God.
Christian believers behold a personal bond with their maker which makes their religion different from others. Hardships are seen as an essential component in a believer as it assists them to improve their values. Believers in Christian faith are also exhorted to love one another and to forgive each other freely.
Sunday is the main day that believers attend church. Going to church is important to every Christian. It has also been noted that frequent churchgoers have other physical and mental benefits. The church is believed to be the body of Christ, and thus they have faith in the same God even if there are many denominations.
When Jesus started his ministry on earth, he selected twelve apostles. He loved money to a great extent. Due to his love of money, he conspired with the Jewish leaders and betrayed Jesus for thirty shekels of silver. During those days, Jews were under the colonial rule of Romans who administered the most shameful and painful punishment to offenders.
In the next few days after the ascension of Jesus to heaven, Christians were now heavily persecuted. Persecutions did not dampen their faith in Christ but it made them reach more people to believe in Christ. Interestingly, Christians are being persecuted even today. Despite the intense suffering caused by those who want to suppress Christianity in China, believers have continued to learn more about Jesus Christ and have thereby increased tremendously. Its growth has continued to surpass many religions by a huge margin in that nation.
